NFR

This last weekend we headed to Cowboy Country...no not Idaho, Vegas. I have always been a country loving girl, which means I like country music. Since I married a boy from the -208- I've been embraced into another culture. Even though he doesn't own a pair of boots or a hat, he introduced me to the world of rodeo. From the rodeo queens (aka sequined glam cowgirls) to the bucking bulls themselves, I LOVED every minute of it! I only wished I didn't wear a cardigan and a scarf to look so out of place. I could have at least had a Coor's in my hand, right?

Take an Asian city girl---

thrown into Logan---hitched to an Idaho boy---

and I'm bound to buy some of these...

Our weekend was so fun! We drove down late Thursday afternoon and were able to stay with the Nyman's, where we were treated with 2nd grade luxury. Trey had made his room into his version of a hotel...2 old gatorade bottles filled with water on the nightstand, a stick of gum, and little Twix (from his Trick-or-Treat bucket) propped next to it. When we woke the little ones up in the morning we felt like Santa Claus. I have never felt so loved before. We spent Friday at the outlets and filled the empty spot under our tree in only hours. After a day of shopping we drove back to the Nymans to get ready for the rodeo. The rodeo was amazing, so entertaining and crazy!

We made it 4 times on the Jumbo Tron...might I add. They must have loved our dancing skills.

After the rodeo we went to the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay to eat. Delicious shrimp po-boy, live band, and country dancing. When we left we were stuffed like true Southerners. On the way out, the gift shop employee rewarded our performance with our choice of sunglasses. In case we hadn't embarrassed our boys yet, this is what we choose.

Then continued dancing to a little Ke$ha, Rihanna, Vanilla Ice, and Michael. We looked like this...

In the Vegas spirit, we lost track of time and before we knew it we were out in the wee hours with our new fellow drunk friends.

The next day we continued shopping at the Sand's Convention Center across from the Wynn. The convention was called Cowboy Christmas...and that it was. We ate the most amazing donuts, BBQ, and saw just about everything the Western country had to offer. Then it was back to the NFR for Round 2. Saturday night was just as great as the first... our friend Jewel and her husband Ty Murray even joined our section! "These foolish games...are breaking my heart..." was in my head the rest of the night.

After the rodeo we ate at Lloyd's favorite Mexican restaurant then headed to the Bellagio to check out their Christmas display...amazing. The "Sleigh Ride" water show was the perfect end to a great trip and put me right in the Christmas mood. Bring on the garland and hollyberries!
